IAKS, IOC and IPC award international architecture prizes for sport facilities

Among 133 projects from 36 countries at this year?s IOC / IAKS Award, 3LHD project - Center Zamet won a silver medal in the international competition of sports facilities.IOC / IAKS Award, and IPC / IAKS Distinction Award are given biennially by the International Olympic Committee and International Association for Sports and recreation facilities, and Para-Olympic International Association for best architectural achievements of facilities intended for sports and recreation and projects specifically adapted for athletes and spectators with disabilities.This 22nd year of the IOC/IACS award had the largest number of applications -133 architectural works from 36 countries. 5 projects have been awarded by Gold, 9 with Silver and 5 with Bronze, as well as 3 special awards. From 50 applications for IPC/IAKS Distinction Award awarded were 7. In the category E - single indoor facilities, gold is not granted, and silver were divided by Zamet Centre and Sports Hall Podčetrtek. Besides this, the Zamet Centre already won a number of architectural awards, including the Annual Award Vladimir Nazor 2009 and award Bernardo Bernardi 2009. Zamet Centre is not the first project from 3LHD who won the IOC/IACS Award. Two years ago Sports Hall Bale won bronze medal.
